It's my pleasure, nps.  I'm just glad everyone continues to participate actively because as you pointed out, that's a big part of what makes Wooden D3 such an awesome place to compete. 

It's crazy that we're now going on 17 seasons of the Shootout. Quite impressive!

Snowball Shootout Season 17

Championship Match- Midwest vs Minnesota

1. Beloit at Hamline (79-65)
2. St. John's at Lawrence (78-63)
3. Monmouth at Augsburg (70-83)
4. St. Olaf at RHIT (67-75 OT)
5. St. Norbert at St. Scholastica (60-57)
6. Macalester at Lake Forest (66-55)
7. Ripon at GAC (70-62)
8. St. Thomas at Grinnell (74-63)
9. Carroll at St. Mary's (59-72)

Minnesota prevails in a heated battle with Midwest and wins its third consecutive Shootout championship, 5 to 4.  Can anyone defeat Minnesota now?    

Consolation Match- Michigan vs Upstate

1. MBBC at Washington (83-72)
2. Brandeis at Calvin (65-62)
3. Alma at Case Western (80-96)
4. HWS at Olivet (58-56)
5. Finlandia at RPI (74-84)
6. NYU at Albion (69-68)
7. Hope at Rochester (58-72)

9. Kalamazoo at Clarkson (58-69)

Not much was close about this one...Upstate wipes the floor with Michigan, winning 7 to 2.   

Next season in the championship, Upstate will try to ward off Minnesota's bid for a 4-peat.  Midwest and Michigan will fight over scraps in the Consolation match. 

Thanks everyone for consistent participation over the many seasons of this 4-way challenge.  We're approaching the 20th season of the Shootout.  Craziness.

I failed to leave week 10 open, and my only open week is not open for St. Norbert. We could do an exhibition game next year, or I'll just have to relinquish the spot to Rockford; whatever you think is best.

pkoopman, we can't count an exhibition game for the Shootout.  So, we'll likely just have to switch you and Marian.  So you would play a home game vs Lake Forest and Marian would have an away game vs St. Norbert.  Is that okay with you?  I sent paul and norm a sitemail about it as well.

This match up was really never close.  Minnesota wins 6-2 and clinches its 4th consecutive Shootout Championship.  Minnesota is now only three wins away from tying Upstate for the most championships in Shootout history. 

Consolation Match- Midwest vs Michigan

2. RHIT at Finlandia (80-77 OT)
3. Alma at Ripon (52-88)
4. Carroll at Olivet (60-81)
5. Calvin at Monmouth (56-68)

8. Knox at Albion (never scheduled)

Despite two "no contests", Midwest sweeps the floor with Michigan and wins the Consolation match 6 to 1. 

Next season Midwest will face 4-time defending champion, Minnesota, in the Championship match.  Michigan and Upstate will play in the Consolation match.

P.S. We had three games that weren't scheduled this season.  I failed to check everything towards the end of the season...sorry about that.  Let's all do a better job of making sure games are scheduled for next season.
