I had 9 penalties for 95 yards in my first game of this season. How can I reduce penalties? Is it a function of formation IQ? Thanks in advance.

Nope. With the engine overhaul everyone's put those on hold.

Its somewhat random, so I would not worry about one game.  Theoretically, higher GI across your team will reduce penalties.  They won't be eliminated so, again....I would not put too much emphasis on that.

Truthfully, I don't even look at penalties anymore.  I have no idea how many or how few my teams get in a game.

When setting my starters should I add the "most important" or both "most important" and "secondary?"

Logan, you probably already have gotten an answer or have otherwise figured this out.  I typically use the GUESS ratings to set my starters, then I look at each position individually and I might make changes to my depth chart based on the attributes that I think are most important, or if I have a player that I want to grow (with starts and playing time).

The GUESS ratings are good, but if you are using a somewhat unconventional offense or defense (wishbone always run, ND Box Always run....or maybe you play Nickel full time as your defense), then you will definitely have to adjust your lineups based on the attributes you want in the game.  If I'm running the ball 100% of the time, I really don't care about how good my WR is as a "normal WR"....I want him to block...so I'll put my best blocker as the starter (example).

Hey guys I'm new to the game and I just took over my team. In the "Reminders" section it gives me my team needs and where I need depth at. Are these notes from an old coach or do these refresh every year? If so, are they reliable? (BTW, the guide has been extremely helpful, thank you)

Jarvisb that sounds like they were left by the old coach.  Zmccrite any money spent on recruiting players out of your vision is a waste, they won't sign with you or be willing to consider you.

I must be doing something wrong, I downloaded Yatzr's recruiting but when I pull in the recruits, all I'm seeing are DI recruits and no DII recruits which is where I'm coaching.  Can someone point out what I'm messing up?

Do not recruit anyone outside your vision. You cannot do this as of now. sounds like the wrong team id was used in yatzr's tool.

I am having a problem with the progression of my team. I'm new to GD. When I look at the progress of each individual's ratings, they're all in the negative. I've cut out some formations on offense and defense to give more individual time but I guess it isn't working. Can someone please shed some light for me? Am I missing something?
