What I am saying is in the states that anyone can marry anyone, let's make it equal for everyone.  It is not equal and it is not right.  Also it is not right for these organizations pushing to keep it unfair.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with that.

You don't?

Have you not been paying attention?

My understanding of what raucous is complaining about is this:

Some states allow gays to marry and allow gays to form civil unions. But, with a few exceptions, don't allow straight couples to form civil unions.

I haven't seen a push from anyone to make civil unions available to all, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. And I don't see why anyone else would. Can you give an example?

I accept the Bible as a guide of neither law nor morality.
I would love to see your top 10!

The difference is that our laws are based on the constitution, not the bible.  That's a rather large distinction.
I wonder what the Constitution is based on. I don't think it's the Koran.

Digging up 3 year old stuff just to find someone to blather at?  LOL

Most of the founding fathers were basically agnostic.  It's a Christian Conservative myth that the Constitution is based on Biblical principles.  It's primarily based on the popular philosophical and political writings of the time, IE basic Enlightenment philosophy.

I went through the first 30 pages of this thread before I bailed.  Pretty entertaining. Now I know why tecwrg can't unblock me. He turned into tecwrg2 and I suspect there will never be a #3.

Good times.

Oh.  Hi das.  Nice to see you are making up.

Which ones?  The agnostics.  A list please.  Don't talk out of class if you can't back it up.  Jefferson?  Franklin?  Washington?  Who?

Pluswise list your sources about the Christian conservative myths the Constitution is not based on Biblical principles.  What were the POPULAR philosophical and political writings of the time?  I was under the impression the Constitution was pretty cutting edge.  What were the institutions employed in said enlightenment?  Was it simply religious or did it encompass philosophy and science and architecture?

Just wondering.
