Ferrer/Martinez are C-types.   Would have only cost me 20 PP over a full season if the numbers were maintained.   While it's a SSS, it sort of shoots my "They do more damage in hitter's parks" theory in the ***.   I play in Scottsdale and it's +2 across the board. 

Of these two catchers, which one would you leave behind the plate and which would you play in RF in a vs. L lineup?

The one with lower range and higher PC plays C. 

Guthrie in RF based on A/S.    That 58 behind the plate won't discourage anyone from stealing.   With the qualifier that the other team isn't sitting around with 2 steal attempts in 30 games.

Did WIS somehow fix this?

In season 8 he had 6 minus plays in 854 innings..  So far in season 9 he has 9 minus plays in 180 innings.. 

Using my PPPS system, no.   Ryu is a C/RF and he remained "in range" of my other RF despite a crazy amount of negs this past season:

Had a little time last night so I went back 10 seasons in MG for OF numbers.   The PPPS averages were as follows:
CF-398.8
LF-318.3
RF-231.4

The high-end CF(using 500 innings minimum) were high range, good glove players.  No real shocker there.   90 range, 80+ glove.

The high-end LF were also range/glove guys.  They were more failed CF/2B with 70+ range/glove.   I know, for a fact, that  you can get even more from high range/lower glove guys(85/65) in LF.   Arm doesn't seem to matter much in LF/CF.

The high-end RF were arm guys.   I hadn't ever thought of using C/DH-types in RF but I did use a handful of 65/35 range/glove guys.  The big difference in plays made came from the arm.   I'd been thinking RF along the lines of LF(range makes up for other shortcomings) but that is flat-out wrong in RF.  The players with the 50/50 arm just don't make the plays that the 65/65 arm players do regardless of R/G numbers.

So, in summation, I think you can use the 8/22/65/65/41 C in RF but not the low level 1B/DH 35/41/38/29 out there with limited negatives.  I'll revisit this as I get a bigger sample size.

This was the breakthrough moment.

Can I take the above to mean that Glove is not critically important for RF? 

Not to take away from the idea of using a C/DH at RF, but I have a player in the minors who goes 60/35/65/65.  I've been playing him at 1B/DH.  Hadn't thought of putting him in RF with that glove.  Sound like a candidate to you?

Here's my guy Buck Ward:  Only used him in RF the last two seasons, during S11 I thought they'd adjusted for this strategy, but in S12 he didn't do nearly as bad:

I think it's all arm.   If you can deal with the errors and negative plays.

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Norberto Matos gets a lot of PT in RF on my Coop team.  Not quite a 35 glove but he gives you an idea of what happens out there.

Edwards has played roughly 70 full games in RF and given you 3 plus plays with a 1.25 RF.   That's nothing.   He'll be a stud at 1B.   Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Rob Prince   His bat doesn't really carry him at 1B but if you're trying to figure things out, it works for now.  I'd probably put James on 1B, Martinez in RF and use Edwards as a sub.  Martinez is lacking a bit in arm but his bat should be good enough.
