Can you take more than 1 ineligible in a recruiting class?

Technically, yes - but odds are extremely high one or both won't show up.  Weird stuff starts happening when you bring in more than one ineligible in my exp.

has anyone ever actually had two ineligibles enroll at DI ?

I'm sorry. I should have stated this as a D2 question. My bad.

My answer stands regardless of D1/D2.  I could maybe see multiples showing up at D3 since they can play immediately, but I have no experience and don't remember ever reading about it.

The only difference between D1 and D2 ineligibles is the eligibility for the 5th season.  For D2, the recruit will sit out the first year if they show up but will automatically get 4 years of eligibility.  At D1, the recruit has to maintain a minimum 2.8 GPA for the first 4 years (including their 1st year if they show up) to qualify for the 5th season.

What if they were signed originally by a DI team, stayed there for three years (including their ineligible year), and then transferred, ultimately winding up on a DII team? And they need a 2.7 GPA to qualify for a 5th year at DI.

Happened to me 1 time. They don't need 2.7 when they transer to DII.

you can sign more than 1, but more than 1 will not show up.

theoretically they can. CS assures me that each ineligible makes his own determination about reporting or going juco and there is nothing in the program limiting or altering the odds for more than 1...

Does an ineligible player get better the year he sits out?
9/7/2012 8:58 PM
Not during the season, but he can improve (or get worse) in his first offseason like other players.

I put all my minutes for ineligibles into sh, not sure it helps there either, but I know it does nothing for the other categories..

So the sit out year is pretty much a dead year.

the sit out season is a dead season

some say that it is possible to get two to enrol - have not seen it - but also have not often seen anyone sign more than one - because we believe collectively that they wont both come
