Ok, so the 80's Euro league is a loser. let's move on.

And so is this one

***Edited***
How about a league with players that played or coached at least 1 game in the old WHA.

no clones
no WW
ties allowed
no ml's
max 2 out.

must name your team after a team that played in the WHA, but they didn't necessarily have to play for that particular team.

I'm thinking $75 mil for a cap but am flexible if you can convince me otherwise.

***updated***
$100 mil cap

Thoughts?

1) can they be used from ANY season ei: they're NHL seasons as well
2) With such a pool of talent I think the cap is much to low, what about 125 mil or better?

I'll take the Birmingham Bulls

$ 1 3 5 mil (...ish), --->>> ''t''W''i''S''t''E''d'', of course...

Even adding ANY F/D/G, ...who coached then (???)

That'd resemble more of a ''magnet'', ---->>> 2 me...

Colorado's capital city has NEVER gone by THAT NAME...

Every local, for over 175 years, just calls it ''COW - TOWN''

If ya' can raise the cap, please reserve the Denver Spurs?

If the cap goes up to over 135 mil ... I'll take the San Diego Mariners

If you raise the cap most teams will be pretty similar.(Plante and Parent would be the goalies on almost ever team) There is going to be a lot of repetition to begin with, since we're picking players from a pretty limited pool. I hate 50 mil leagues but for this one, 50 mil is probably the best cap amount. It would give you a far broader range of players at all positions, and offers the best chance to see more unique lineups.

tractorjack hit the nail on the head.

too high of cap will result in every team looking the same.

my goal is to have unique lineups with players not often selected.

However I am willing to raise it to 100 mil.

Is that acceptable to you $135 guys?

I'll join, Phoenix Roadrunners please!

(I agree that a super-high cap will lead to player repetition...100 mil sounds good to me.  With 100 mil, there is $$ to afford some of the top choices, but not ALL of the top choices.)

100 mill works for me too.  Leagues where every team looks the same are boring.

Thanks, in part, ---4 that "$25mil" cap addition...

However, in the same spirit of 'relenting' (a wee-bit), please go
w/ the notion that the World-Hockey-Assoc. was VERY MUCH a
league filled with PLAYER-COACHES... Reconsider (if U will?),
the broad'r player-pool, beyond the known skaters like B.HULL,
P.STAPLETON, B.HARRIS, & H.HOWELL, who also coached...

Twist'd versions of (Rocket) MauriceRICHARD, CamilleHENRY,
AndyBATHGATE, & 4-sure, even (G) AL ROLLINS would give a
boost 2 the diversity of rosters/teams that U R seeking here, -&
certainly would not violate the spirit of that '70's W.H.A. League...

Am only negotiating publicly, -2 get U some more WiS owners...

Heck, even BillGOLDSWORTHY lost 20 of the
29 games that he head-coached... Yes (???)

If not, ---then there R other options--- such as
moving the 'Spurs" to San Antonio, so eye can
start dunkin' w/Duncan, ---> & my doughnuts...

Don't blink, & yes, it happen'd THAT fast, back
then... The overnight 'moving van'... *POOF* !!!...

I will join but am not crazy about the 100 million cap as I think we will still have lots of similiar teams.  Ideally a draft of players would be great if someone had the time to run it.  Also, I am not sure if their is enough players in the pool for a draft.

Vancouver Blazers
9/4/2012 4:27 PM
Bathgate played 11 gamed in 74-75
Goldsworthy played part of 2 seasons but not sure he coached.

however if you want to open it up to allow those 3 players, so be it.

but i'm expecting to see Bill Dineen, Ron Ingram and Marc Boileau somewhere on your roster!!
