Double Mendoza: Salary Cap & MWR - Two teams left Topic

Double Mendoza is a very balanced and competitive league that saw only two teams win 100 or more games last season (100 and 104) and one team lose 100 games (102). The is largely because of the $100M salary cap and the tow-season 125 minimum win requirement. Actually, no one has been voted out the past two seasons for missing the MWR. It's a good league with four available teams. None of these teams are handcuffed by large contracts, and all of them have significant assets in their farm system:

The former Detroit Karz-N-Trux (NL North) 60-102 last season. 17 players currently 70-79 overall, 1 player 80-89. About $48M in committed salary for this season. They have 5 first round or sandwich picks from the past four years in their system (6, 7, 36, 51). They will have the 1st pick in this year's draft..

The former Atlanta Peaches (NL South) 69-93 last season. 15 players currently 70-79 overall, 2 players 80-89. About $41M in committed salary for this season. They have 7 first round or sandwich picks from the past four years in their system (5, 5, 8, 14, 35, 47, 50). They will have the 7th pick in this year's draft,

The formerly well-named Syracuse Your Allusion (AL East) 78-84 last season.  12 players currently 70-79 overall, 2 players 80-89, 1 player 90-95. About $27M in committed salary for this season. They have 9 first round or sandwich picks from the past four years in their system (13, 15, 16, 28, 39, 54, 62, 71, 73). They will have the 13th pick in this year's draft.

The former Huntington Cartographers (AL East) 84-78 last season. 13 players currently 70-79. 4 players 80-89. About $29M in committed salary for this season. They have 6 first round or sandwich picks from the past four years in their system, (19, 21, 25, 28, 40, 55). They will have the 19th pick in this year's draft. This is a playoff team.

The former Richmond Road Rage (AL South) 69-93 last season. 10 players currently 70-79 overall, 2 players 80-89. About $26M in committed salary for this season. They have 6 first round or sandwich picks from the past four years in their system (2, 6, 11, 31, 48, 57). They will have the 6th pick in this year's draft.

The former Vancouver Stinky Monkeys (AL West)  65-97 last season. 17 players currently 70-79 overall.  About $44M in committed salary for this season. They have 7 first round or sandwich picks from the past four years in their system (14, 15, 17, 30, 43, 46, 51, 51). They will have the 3rd pick in this year's draft.

If you are interested in any of the above teams, please sitemail me. Thanks.

A very balanced league: seven different champions in the last seven seasons. 11 different teams (out of a possible 14) in the World Series in that time frame.

Four teams left. Add a FA or two to any of them and they'd be contenders. The rebuild process for all was already underway.
