Pau and Dwight both out. The possibility of this team not making the playoffs excites me.

Stern owes the Lakers a little Lottery "luck".

I was thinking Phoenix got whatever pick, but apparently it takes some far fetched possibility for them to get it before 2015.

but the lakers still dont - it's owned by someone else - this is a full scale disaster - I cant get my head around how bad this has gotten - I have no faith in D'Antoni (not sure old part time Phil would be any better though) - just a full fledged charlie foxtrot style mess - never seen anything like it

Yeah, not something I'm used to as a Lakers' fan.  Now I know what it's like for fans of every other team.

It's hard to think of any team that's ever had this amount of talent tanking so bad or having such high hopes at the beginning of the season dashed

Step back from the ledge my friends.  As a Celtics fan I remember when they lost to the lowly lowly Nets in the regular season, late in the season at that, and everyone wrote them off.  What happened?  They came a Kendrick Perkins injury away from the title.

Lakers'll put it together

The 88-89 Mavericks didn't have this collection of talent, but they were coming off a season in which they'd lost in 7 in the WCF to the champion Lakers and had made the playoffs 5 straight years.  With basically the same team, they went 38-44.

38 games seems like a pipe dream right about now

This has got to be one of the biggest disasters of all time...this team of "stars" probably isn't going to sniff the playoffs...unreal

A lot of it was injury though.  I hope Kobe realizes that as his shots go down and assists go up, their wins increase.  They'll be pretty good next year especially if they can build their bench.  This year was a waste though.

not bad against the thunder and in a position to make a little run as they have the hornets, twolves, suns, bobcats, and pistons as well as tougher match-ups against the nets and celtics coming up over the next two weeks - 5 games out of the last play-off spot: can they make up ground?

Yup.  I didn't they would, but I can see em getting the 7 or 8 and being a tough out in the playoffs.

I'd have a better feeling for the Lakers chances if they win some road games. 5-15 is just brutal. They also have to contend with the Mavs who are playing well recently.

Not looking good.  Can't see Pau coming back this reg season.
