Does the prospect prefer these only because of the monetary difference?  Meaning would they take the MLB deal over an MILB deal even if the MILB deal is paying more?

Ha, I considered it but didn't want to lose the guy. Offered him an MLB deal to be safe and he signed.

Now, I have assumed this to mean that offering an MLB deal means you have to pay him MLB minimum salary 327k per season every season he's in the minors.  Am I correct?

Correct but I've also read that you don't necessarily need to promote him at the end of it.
