This is apples and oranges.

If we are discussing who we should be afraid of then we need to look at many factors.

If we are discussing "Are we spending too much as a nation on defense" then %of GDP is the better metric.

clueless as usual...what are you trying to say? #2 is contradicted by #3.

And why is % of GDP a better metric than a more thorough, multi-faceted analysis? Just because you can't hold more than a single thought in your head at one time?

Why should we be afraid of anybody?

Afraid conjures up some negatives based on schoolyard bullying. Let use concerned.

Like....

Poland is concerned that Gearmany may seize the Polish corridor
South Korea is concerned about a possible North Korean attack.
Nato is concerned over the 50,000 Warsaw Pact tanks in Europe

Warfare moves faster now. We took a long time getting ready for War in 1941 and men died because of it.

Today we could lose more than soldiers lives if we are not ready.

I accept that we may need to have an adult conversation about our level of military spending in light of our fiscal concerns.

I am just worried that some peple look at the world and do not see "Concerns"!
