My kicker has missed 3 extra points in the past game and a half.  Is this just a matter of him sucking or is there something I'm missing?

His TECH is not very good.   I always recruit someone who starts with over 40 for TECH.

He is gonna miss a few, so I would not get overly concerned, but you should be able to recruit a better kicker than that guy.

for kickers and punters technique is big for efficiency. though sometimes you can get a sim AI guy who just plays lights out regardless, i always would rather have the dude with higher tech and sacrifice a bit of strength.
you can always dial back the distance on FG attempts if needed while he grows the strength.

I personally believe that, at the higher levels, kicker ratings are irrelevant - it only matters that you have a kicker or punter in the slot. I've had walkons at Northwestern in Heisman for the last five seasons, and not very good walkons at that - and yet the kicking results are surprisingly good.

The first walkon made 198 straight PATs before missing and made 78% of his FGs up to 52 yards, and the current walkon (with Str/T of 39/59) made two 45+ yard FGs to win games in his freshman season. At lower levels, it is not the same, but at DIA ratings don't matter.
