Billy Beane may not put too much value on them, but baseball's field generals have a long, storied history in America's Pastime. Let us pay tribute to the managers who were in the lineup before they wrote out the lineup.
Leo the Lip took home the Title in Season 1, so it is time for Season 2!
Pick any manager who played at least 1 full season and managed at least 1 full season.
Then select 12 players who played WITH your manager.
Next select 12 players who played FOR your manager.
The Twist: This year you may twist either the playing career OR the managerial career of your selection, but not both. Please indicate which part of his career you will be twisting upon announcing your selection. I will put a (P) or an (M) next to your name to acknowledge your choice.
What does this mean: If you chose Joe Torre and decided to twist his playing career, you would be allowed to use any season of Bob Gibson's career, but only ARod from 2004-2007. By contrast, if you chose to twist Joe Torre's managerial career, you could use any season of ARod's career, but only Bob Gibson from 1969-1974.
Please note: If you choose someone who was a player/manager at some point, that obviously gives you greater flexibility in whom you choose to twist.
The final roster spot will be filled by any season the manager himself played.
We will be blacklisting any players used in Season 1. They are listed below.
