I need to move my game to a different slot due to the Yarnell. Game 10 would be best.
11/12/2012 9:00 PM
Bellarmine has asked Pfeiffer to host a new non con tourney weeks 5-9...i could see if 4-8 works or we could play rockhurst week 10. im the new guy so you all tell me what works best...
11/13/2012 5:22 PM
Hey bow - why don't you just schedule the CVAC-Heartland game for week 4? That way there aren't a ton of games on Wk 10. We usually just work our schedule around the other tourneys, being as that we are naturally flexible.

If you can't do Wk. 4, I'm OK with Wk. 10.
11/13/2012 8:07 PM
sounds good week 4 it is
11/14/2012 7:58 AM
I'm sending invites out later today. Both St Marys TX and Longwood out of these conferences qualified for Yarnell, so yeah, keep slots 5-9 open
11/14/2012 8:34 AM
St. Mary's and Longwood are already scheduled for week 10, hacker....so it should be all good.
1/12/2013 2:25 PM
Looks like there's only an 11 game tourney due to Anderson having been ghostshipped - at least there can't be a tie!

Pfieffer and Rockhurst start off the tourney tonight!

#9 Pfeiffer (3-0) -4 at Rockhurst (3-0):  The first game of the Challenge kicks off with a matchup between two undefeated teams.  Unipanther, in his first Challenge, has to defend home court against veteran coach bow2dacowz.  Pfeifer's small-ball attack is led by guards Willie Bohler and Colby Schumacher, each averaging over 12 ppg.  Pfeiffer has made a living slashing to the basket, averaging over 80 ppg with only four made 3-pointers on the year.

Rockhurst appears to be a year away, with 5 juniors and zero seniors on the roster, but that hasn't stopped them from a perfect start.  PFs Allen Weaver and Jack Fulmer combine for 28 ppg, with PG Bruce Jessup blazing away at 50% from deep to add 13.3 ppg.  In fact, the whole Rockhurst team averages 50% from three, in route to 86 ppg.

#9 Pfeiffer will have to contend with a confident Rockhurst team on their home floor.  It should be a track meet, with the visitors favored by 4.

Challenge fun fact:  13 of the current top 25 will play in the Challenge.  The CVAC has 9 ranked teams, while the Heartland has 4.  In addition, the Heartland has three teams in the "others receiving votes" section of the poll.

Pfeiffer 91, Rockhurst 74:  While the boxscore paints a picture of a comfortable Pfeiffer win, this game was a different story in the first half.  Rockhurst led much of the way, until Pfeiffer went on a 14-6 run over the last 4:30 to take a 4 point lead at half.  PG Colby Schumacher scored the final 9 points of the half for coach bow2dacowz on his way to a game-high 18.

Rockhurst's strategy of selling-out and collapsing on anything inside kept it close during the 1st half, but they simply ran out of bodies in the 2nd half.  Pfeiffer's superior depth was exemplified by the 52 bench points (versus 26 for Rockhurst).  SF Conrad Inoue led Rockhurst with 14, while Weaver & Jessup chipped in 10 each.  Pfeiffer's Schumacher had 18, and significant contributions off the bench from PG Steve Haviland with 11 and 10 each from PGs Ira Snow and Dennis Morgan & PF Nathan Stewart.

CVAC take a 1-0 lead in the Challenge.
