Any way to tell who it was who blocked the kick?

Happened middle of 3rd quarter here.

In this game here.

You will never know. :-(

I don't think a blocked punt even shows up in the stats as a blocked kick, does it? I think only blocked XP and FG do.

In my team stats it does show 2 blocked kicks. I do not recall blocking an XP or FG but I know I have blocked 2 punts on the season... When I look at indivdual defensive players here I do not see anyone with a BK though. From that I infer that perhaps an offensive player, who is a special teamer, made the block?

Do not INFER...its a waste of brain cells.  I'm not convinced the engine even knows....or even actually puts players into the special teams mix...other than the K/P and kick returner.

It would be nice to have more control over special teams, but right now..its just a big black hole.  No point in even talking about it.

In the previous engine GD kept those stats. Now everyone just looks away  . . .

Special teams as explained by Norbert is just a kicker vs the returner and then special teams formations are factored into the return distance. (slightly in the current engine) Same for Punters vs returner.

So then how is a blocked punt factored in?

I asked this before I think and Norberts response was something on the line of not tracking Safetys or BK anymore and they are just sacks or something like that... I might be remembering in a fuzzy way (might be drinking, ha)  But BK show up and Safety don't now so who knows.
