Best $90M Team in History?-Season 14 (FULL) Topic

Start with any team in history, and include at least 20 players from that team and year on your final roster.  Up to 5 players on your final roster may be selected from other teams from your chosen year.

All teams from 1885 through 2012 are potentially eligible, however, some teams will not be usable because they have fewer than 20 WIS eligible players on their roster.  No teams are blacklisted this season.

As long as a player is identified by WIS as being from your chosen team, he is eligible even if he was traded during the season and his stats are combined from more than one team.  For example, if you choose the 1964 Cardinals, you may use either the version of Lou Brock using only his Cardinal stats, or the one using his combined Cardinal/Cub stats.  However, if you chose to use the version using only his Cub stats, he would not count as one of your 20 original roster players.

No clones, DH, WW, AAA or trades.  You must use the park that your chosen team called home in your year of choice.  This is a public league, so no spots can be saved through the forum.  Please join by entering your team in MLB103349,  Thank you!

I just wanted to make sure I follow the rules. If a player has partial seasons available with yor team and one other, the only partial season that counts toward your roster requiement of 20 is the one that wis identifies as your team, right? It's frustrating to me because I have a player who hit .153 with the pirates (my team) and .310 with the cardinals after he was traded! If I go for the full season I end up with an expensive mediocre player who hits.254. My understanding of the rules is that I can go for the terrible partial season spent with the pirates, or the mediocre full season version.

I just want confirmation both for myself and anyone else who might be in the same boat.

Lol double truck, I was going for the "Tinker to Evers to Chance" Cubbies, too, but i guess they didnt have much of a bench in those days. Owners didnt want to apend good money for players they weren't going to use, I guess. It doesnt help that starters threw complete ga,es more often than not. I ran into the same problem when I looked at the 1907-09 tigers and the 1919 Black Sox. Finally made it work with the 1909 pirates, but only because they made a multiplayer deal with St. Louis during the season so there were enough partial seasons from players who played for both teams to meet the roster requirement.

Your understanding of the rules is exactly right dcmatcheck.  Please refer to the 1964 Lou Brock example in the first post above.
