An unnamed Kansas City Chiefs player has committed suicide at the team facility and the police are on the scence, the team confirmed to ESPN on Saturday morning.

Local reports say the police are operating with the belief the player fatally shot his girlfriend at a house before driving to Arrowhead Stadium and killing himself.

There were no other injuries at the team facility, police said.

Just read this in an ESPN article:

"The estate or guardian of the 3-month-old daughter will receive more than $1 million under terms of the NFL's collective bargaining agreement. Belcher's 3-month-old daughter, Zoey, stands to receive $108,000 annually over the next four years, $48,000 in the fifth year and then $52,000 each year until age 18. She'll continue to receive that amount until age 23 if she attends college. The beneficiary of Belcher also will receive $600,000 in life insurance, plus $200,000 for each credited season. There is also $100,000 in a retirement account that will go to his beneficiary or estate. Players' beneficiaries are kept confidential."

Since when does life insurance cover suicides?

Thats what I was thinking. Someone suggested you could pay huge premiums to get it covered, lol. Can you imagine paying for that coverage then the next day, bam and collect? Lol.

Maybe the CBA is different, I don't know.
