BTW, the comments I posted above were from an owners' forum in my current OL, and they are not my thoughts.  I am curious to know what others think...

I think that crybabies are fun to mock.

If you won 102 games and missed the playoffs then certainly the system isn't equalizing things to keep them interesting, because half your league must have lost 100 games. And in such a competitive division a late-season losing streak probably isn't that unexpected given that you would have played against the other 100+ win teams.

Teams extremely biased in one direction probably aren't winning more due to the pricing formula than the engine working against you.

The game is not rigged.  WIS doesn't even pay attention to the product anymore (like the planned major Fall 2012 update that has not happened nor seems close to happening).  They are not secretly writing code and logic for the engine to pick and choose who does well and who does not.

I don't claim to be a great owner in this game, but there is some relevance to your post. I can't count the times I've seen (personally, and with other owners), a team with a double digit division lead after 2/3 of the season, and then it evaporates. The team with the big lead doesn't always miss the playoffs, but the fact that they just randomly collapse after 110ish games of really good play is not something that should be happening as often as it does.
A lot of owners hold back some of their best part time players for the stretch run.

Yes, the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox and NY Mets, among others, certainly agree about the sudden collapsing late in the season thing. I think the Red Sox used to have a name for it, something about some lady cursing them out.

And the NY Yankees, sigh, are convinced that something is wrong when $140 doesn't pay for a single win against the Detroit Tigers in the playoffs.

So the whole thing is fixed. Darn socialist conspiracy. And who has won the MLB World Series two seasons out of three ? Huh? San Francisco, that's who ! What does that tell you ?

And who lost it two seasons in  a row and then didn't even make it this season ? Texas, that's who.

Clearly secession is the only option.
