I just finished a season in which my 1920 Babe Ruth hit .358 with 37 HR and 140 RBI's. Sounds pretty good, huh? Well those were his road stats. His total line was .367, with 66 HR and 235 RBI's. He was .367/.472/.780 playing in Great American Ballpark as his home park. Unfortunately, he finished 2nd in the MVP voting. He played 91 games as the DH, 42 games at 1B, 1 game in LF, and 25 games in RF. I think the MVP voting only looks at what a player did at one position, not at all of his stats. Does anyone have another explanation?
