Was trying to find a topic on this but couldnt..

Has anyone had success with a dual threat QB at any level?

A few seasons ago I did.  My gameplan usually has the QB rushing at 8% and that usually gets about 300 yards a season.

Order of effectiveness for a running QB in my experience is Trips, Pro, SG, ND (I haven't used the other ones but SG is only effective because people default their gameplans to always pass.  Trips and Pro are about equal it in.  Right now there is a QB in Stagg (Yale) who has about 500 yards rushing halfway through the season.  That coach runs trips exclusively.

I was wondering more along the lines of a Johnny Manziel in GD

Its too difficult to duplicate something like that in WIS... the QB will run too little or be a terrible passer

Although once in a while you do see a "rushing' QB bust off a big run but nothing like a Vince Young, Cam Newton or Manziel would do

Andrew Lewis (11-2)
http://whatifsports.com/gd/PlayerProfile/Stats.aspx?pid=7308146
3439 Pass yards TD:INT 27:10   871 Rush Yards 5 TDs

Jack Parker (10-5)

3434 Pass yards TD:INT 27:20 1218 Rush Yards 3 TDs

My 2 QBs This season, Its not uncommon for me to have 3000+ yard passing and 1000+ yard rushing from my QBs.

***Edit*** I also had a guy go 4000+ passing and 1500-1800 (cant remember exactly) Rushing a few seasons back. Also a 3000+/2000+ guy back in October. There is no way to pull up old players is there?***

This is one thing I really like about GD.  Just when you think something can't be done....there is one or two coaches that pop up and clearly demonstrate the opposite.

I think anything is possible in this game, you just have to experiment and see how the pieces fit together to get your desired result.

Right before JConte changed to GD 2.0 you could change a RB to QB as a FR, By the SR year you could have a monster QB/RB combo - BUT you could also switch between two QB's and have one in for passing and one for running. Much harder now and would take more seasons to develop.

If your QB is running a lot it's because your OL sucks or your QB has too much speed and ELU.

I had a guy go over 1000 yards rushing with over 2000 passing a LOOOONG time ago (many many updates ago).  I ran him exclusively out of SG.
