A new DII tournament, the Sweet Potato Jam, will debut in season #62.

The sweet potato is the official state vegetable of North Carolina. The tournament will have a host team from North Carolina or an adjoining state (GA, TN, or SC). It will be a 6-team round robin event beginning with game #5 in the non-conference schedule.
