SS/HH Progressive 1926/1976 needs 1 new owner Topic

The Sultan of Swat/Hammerin Hank Progressive is getting ready to draft for its 7th season next Tuesday and needs 2 new owners.  Below are the league rules and keepers for each vacant team.

League Rules

Unlimited salary cap. No Waiver Wire. DH will be used in both leagues.

Major league rosters will be limited to a max of 25 players...however, players on the I.R. (no WIS status that season or seasons) do not count against this total.
Owners may choose to cut zero players or any amount of players, but your active major league roster must always be 25 players heading into each season.

Rookie Drafts – The draft order will be set at the transaction deadline (120 games.) Must win 30 games by transaction deadline (game 120) to qualify for 4- team weighted lottery. From worst record to 4th worst record= 50%/25%/15%/10% chance of getting the #1 pick. Teams failing to win 30 games by the deadline will draft behind the 4 lottery teams in order of most losses (1st round only).

Tiebreakers will be determined by (1) head to head record through 120 games (2 if needed) Totals runs scored by each team during head to head (3 if all else fails) A virtual coin flip.

Owners must check their keepers against the available players list before every rookie draft...if you have a player that is drafted while on the availables and your keeper list, you must notify the commish before the player is taken or you lose that player.

Drafted players must appear on a major league roster the year they are drafted. The bottom 4 eligible teams by W-L record will go into a weighted draft lottery with the worst team getting 4 chances, 2nd worst getting 3 chances, 3rd worst getting 2 chances, and the 4th worst getting 1 chance for the #1 pick.

Stadiums – Stadium selection will be part of the initial draft. Selected stadiums must come from the initial years of the draft. Stadiums are permanent and may not be changed, except...

When an owner’s stadium is no longer in “actual use” during a season. In this case, an owner will be required to change to an unused eligible stadium.

Beginning with the 6th season draft, and every 5th season thereafter, eligible stadiums not in use by any team in the league will be made available in the draft. An extra draft pick will be assigned to every owner. The stadiums will be treated like available players. They may be drafted by any owner in lieu of a player at any scheduled time during the draft. After drafting a stadium, the owner’s original stadium will be “retired” and it, as well as any available stadium that wasn’t drafted, will become eligible for random selection when the next stadium draft is held five seasons later.

New owners taking over a franchise may choose an unused eligible stadium prior to the next season.

AAA-players may be used at any time. Each team receives a full roster (6-position players/2 pitchers) of below-average AAA-players.

Disabled list. There is no limit to the number of players on a team’s roster not sim eligible that may be placed on the disabled list. The number of players on the disabled list have no effect or bearing on the number of minor league players allowed on a team’s roster.

Trades – Draft picks may be traded up to three seasons later than the season in which the trade is made. It takes six vetoes to nullify a trade.

This team has some very young solid players to build around or to help build a solid base.  Keith Hernandez, Max Bishop, Mickey Rivers, Dave Winfield, and Goose Gossage are all at the early stages of their careers..  Also a solid Sparky Lyle and Tug McGraw help the pitching staff.

This team is taken.

This team also has some very solid players to build around.  Young players such as Carlton Fisk, Bill Terry, and Dennis Eckersley are a good start for a solid core.  This team also has Pete Rose, Dusty Baker, and Phil Niekro.
