The 2013 MvG Challenge is now to play 28 seasons (1 with each team) of Tecmo Super Bowl for SNES. Since there are 3 different schedules you can choose from (1991-1993), I'm playing through the 1993 schedule with each team and if I'm feeling up to it, I will play the 1992 schedule with each team as well (1064 games potentially). I've finished 2 seasons and have started a 3rd, 2-0 with the Kansas City Chiefs...here are the results thus far...37-2 overall
Just to expound a bit about TSB for SNES, it's a harder game than the original Tecmo Super Bowl for SNES, it's also more sound, they tied up some of the loose ends from the NES version (kickoff clock, touchbacks, TD fumble glitch, etc.). The fixes are good, and it's a solid game, but it lacks the magic of TSB for NES...the Bo Jacksons, Jerry Rices, Barry Sanders, QB Eagles, Lawrence Taylors, Rod Woodsons, Deion Sanders simply don't exist. No 100 sack, 3500 rush yard, 4000 rec yard, 5900 pass yard, 60+ TD seasons *tear* lol. More solid = Less Gaudy...take the good with the bad I guess.
Just one last mentionable here, it's sad/fitting/appropriate that as the gaming technology got better and better, the Tecmo Super Bowl series got considerably worse. TSB for NES was probably the peak, and TSB for SNES is a solid second, but everything after was downhill...Tecmo SB 2 and 3...*shudders*...the one for PS1...*shudders*...glad I grew up when this thing came out and was live.
I believe my first Dallas season this year was the first season I've ever completed with TSB for SNES, didn't play it much as a youth.
