If an agent tells you he's got a better offer for his player or coach is he always telling the truth? Or is he sometimes just trying to drive up the price? If he refers to offers (plural) or teams (plural) does that actually mean there's more than one team bidding against you?

In my experience, agents don't lie.

Don't get caught up if the specific verbiage of their response.  The only thing that matters is if your bid has the little "1" inside of it.  If not, then at least one other team has a better bid than yours.
