I just took over as commish for a progressive league entering the 1986 draft

If you have been looking for a progressive league with pretty standard rules we'd love to have you

here are the rules I am inheriting.  we may have some discussion later on tweaks but not yet:

  • 1100 IP minimum at all times during the season.
  • Team name must be of the format 'City Nickname'. You may make up a Nickname, but keep the proper city for your franchise.
  • AAA - 6 Pos/2 P (below average). 1979: 12/4 Below Average. 1980-we'll see.
  • Use the proper stadium for your team.
  • You must keep 15 active players from year to year unless more than 10 people retire or go to IR. IR is unlimited.
  • Draft order is worst-to-first, with a 4-team lotto for the top slots. The first round order remains throughout the draft.
  • Salary is the tiebreaker for teams with same number of wins when constructing the draft order. Lower salary = better pick.
  • Failure to hit 40 wins by game 120 bumps you to 5th in the next draft.
  • I will make up First-Round picks when I am around the computer, mid-round, to limit the damage of missing a First-Rounder.
  • I will makeup picks for all other rounds at the end of round. I will do this until I no longter feel teams are seeking the 'best-available' player.
  • Don't tank.
  • Teams are subject to last place in the draft or dismissal for tanking. Tanking can never be defined in black-&-white terms, so basically don't be an ***.
  • Trades are done through the forum. Trading parties must sitemail the league so that everyone is aware that a trade is pending. Eight vetoes in 24 hours kills a trade. The trade cannot be initiated in the league's system until it has passed via the forum.
  • If a trade is initiated in the league's system prior to the voting timeframe having elapsed, both teams will have a (+6) added to their win total when determining the following year's draft order.
  • Trades can include future draft picks.
  • You may never draft your 25th player in a draft prior to a draft slot you've traded away. The opposite is not true; if you acquire a pick and elect not to use it, that's fine, but the person who traded it to you does not get it back.
