Damn!  I was going to vote for Asdrubal Azocar.. But he has 13- plays and was played out of posistion.  I voted for Wang because of his 51 doubles and his name.. It would be nice to know the team records..

After really looking it's a no brainer..

Guillermo Lopez.. Those are pretty amazing numbers out of Safeco Field..   32 2B's, 44 HR's, 32 SB's and  21 + plays on DEF...

Zbrent's real point is Azocar isn't even on the ballot, and he thinks he should be.

I think it's great that they take defense into account though.

I'm all for considering defense. And if you wanted to vote for someone other than Azocar based on that being more valuable than the nearly triple crown season Azocar had, it is absolutely your right.

That said, the real point is that Azocar played a sub-par LF (and some adequate 1B) and is penalized for that, while a DH who did not hit as well (and played limited sub-par in the field) is on the ballot - Rios. The park effects for the two favor Rios, but it's not extreme (like Safeco) and wouldn't be enough to outweigh the clear hitting advantage in every category for Azocar. Rios just benefited from playing mostly DH and so not having the chance to accumulate 14 (-) plays.

Whang's defense should save some runs, while Azocar's will cost his team runs (based on plus/minus and errors). Therefore, the net Runs Created will favor Whang. I doubt anybody else's defense would save enough runs to jump Whang, so Whang should get MVP

Lopez, all the way, with Safeco and the excellent defense at 3B.  But Azocar's also an easy second...  the RC/27 tells you that he was much more efficient at creating his runs than the other offense-first players.

4 of the 5 in S22 at least play more difficult positions, but Evert is a 1B also. Slightly better defensively, but not a stud, and Azocar beats him as a hitter by a decent margin.

Can the AI hate certain players?
