14 years ago, the WAC included BYU, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado St, Air Force, San Diego St. and UTEP.
Now, they've dropped football and have 7 teams...Seattle, Cal-Bakersfield, Chicago St., Grand Canyon, Texas-Pan American, Utah Valley and New Mexico St.
Only by adding Chicago State in December were they able to keep their automatic NCAA bid for 2013-14. Chicago St. is 7-15 and has defeated Concordia-Chicago, Trinity Christian, and Benedictine Springfield.

Other leagues have taken damage in the frenzy of realignment. Those lumps are mere paper cuts compared to the WAC's near-death experience. The league that used to be the picture of health, getting three tournament bids and turning out first-round NBA draft picks, has become the emergency room patient learning how to walk again, trying to ensure it can one day keep dancing.
NOTE: from a Wikipedia entry, between 2013-15, 48 schools will be joining a different conference
