Far from Home vs. Close to Home Topic

Hey,

What constitutes "far from home" and what is "close to home"? Are there specific mile markers, like say within 100 miles is close and further than 100 is far?

I'm 99% sure it is 300 miles.

I'm 99% sure it makes very little difference regardless (but weena could well be right). I don't think these have very much impact either way.
