Hate you all - well just the owner that passed on CY and Doc and so many others.

Yeah but you got two chicks on your team

This is true. Also have a dummy and was thinking about getting Happy, but I need innings so we go with Brickyard Kennedy.

If I had a nickle for every time someone took the next one or two picks on my list I might be able to field a good team. Not sure about the rest of you but doubt I'll be close to hitting an 80 million dollar payroll.

Hey gigrant. Could you explain, again, how we're to use AAA and the scrubs?

If you're going to use 6 AAA hitters and 2 AAA pitchers how about everyone picking the same eight players (I think deaf put out a list of the cheapest players a while back). Then, before the first game you can replace them with the AAA players.

As soon as the first game is played the scrubs could all be dropped and everyone would a bit of money to use for trading.

my thought is this.  we draft about 20 players or so a team (an equal number) and use the scrubs ($250k or less) to fill out rosters.  Those guys get dumped into AAA and replaced with the AAA players before we start rolling.  it solves the problem with their not quite being enough players to go around, and the idea is to use the guys we are drafing right now any way.  i think we will need the AAA players to assist with IPs and PAs.  managing AAA guys is a fun part of managing (sometimes), and there is a little luck involved.  plus, these players will be trade elgible as well (AAA).  i think it will be a good thing.  but if isn't, we won't use it in '02.  there will be a bit of trial an error involved with this league as i've never seen a career progressive run before.

My vote is for drafting 17 to 20 each. I'll bow to you, the commish, and the other managers on that (I'm easy).

Also, I'd like to thank you for putting this together.  Probably takes a lot more work than you thought when you did it, but you're doing a great job. I've done three theme leagues and they are not easy. A progressive theme, with a draft, has go to be the hardest. Again, thank you for all your work on this.

The most important thing, imo, is that everyone try to meet the minimum pa and ip with their draft picks (before any scrubs).

Heading out to pick up the wife from work in about a half hour (2:45). Will be back around 4:15 depending on traffic (what's with all these cars anyway)?

Not saying TGIF though, it's too common.
I prefer SETS (Screw everything, tomorrow's Saturday).
