Progressive, injuries and real life minor Topic

I have mostly played in baseball Progressive Leagues.

So I am more familiar with the ways limited talent pools are addressed in those leagues..

In a current 1979/80 Progressive my team has suffered it's first loss of player from injury.

I had to draft several players who missed a high number of games, and we use random players from the 1960's and 70's + a players last season in the WhatIfSports Sim can be repeated for two more seasons.

So we have put in to practice several ways to deepen the player pool for this 1979/80 Hockey Season.

Is there an option to have real life players as minor league replacements?

Can a league draft 25 - 30 players and then use these  additional players to fill in for injured, suspended, or low energy players?

Goalie Johnny Bower tends to injured red wing # 15 Howie Glover, Gordie Howe is # 9.

Gordie Howe lies unconscious on March 28, 1950 at the Detroit Olympia.

ooooohdoggie   - I don't understand the thinking of putting a player out for 72 games when in real life they only missed 48 games.

I know player's salaries are partially based on games played and it is not fair to pay for only 32 games and receive 80. It would also seem unfair to pay for 32 games and only get 12. Johnston is the 14th player listed.

Are games missed from injuries, suspensions etc. simmed differently in single season leagues as opposed to Progressive Leagues.

Team Stats Johnston is injured in the 12th game of our season.
