This is an updated version of the conversation in this thread ->

To view the PBP with debug info, run a game in the Test Game page under the Schedule menu and check the Debug PBP check box.

The debug info will show you how the engine works through a play, step-by-step.  There are several match ups and play results that get spit out in this info and they are displayed in abbreviated form, so this topic will explain how to read the lines.

UPDATE 3/12 - I have worked on the blocking match ups in the engine, which I will describe how to view below, so if anyone want to review those in the debug info, please feel free to do so at this time.

The first part of the debug info for each step lists the current step and what is going on and where.

[STEP:1 LOC:InsideLine ACT:Rushing]

This shows the current step, the current ball location, and the current action.

LOC: InsideLine, OutsideLine, InsideShort, OutsideShort, Medium, Long, and Deep
ACT: Rushing, Passing, Scrambling, Receiving (running after the catch)

The blocking match up will displayed for each step and the current location.

[INSIDE: 45-63 (2) ADV:SlightDisadvantage RESULT:OffenseModerate ]

Breaks down as:
[INSIDE... : this is the match up location

45-63 (2) ... : this is the offensive rating and the defensive rating for the match up, the number in parentheses is the number of players the offense has more than the defense in this match up (negative number if the defense has the advantage)

ADV: ... : this is the match up advantage for the offense based on the ratings match up and the number of players involved.
values: GreatAdvantage, Advantage, SlightAdvantage, Equal, SlightDisadvantage, Disadvantage, GreatDisadvantage

RESULT:... : this is the outcome of the blocking match up in that location.  This is based on the ADV but can fall into several results for each ADV so there is some overlap.  However, the overlap will favor the offense when the offense wins the advantage and favor the defense when the defense wins the advantage.
values: OffenseStrong, OffenseModerate, Equal, DefenseModerate, DefenseStrong

Passing adds a slight difference to the blocking debug info:

[LINE: ins:45-56 str:39-55 agi:23-38 (2) ADV:SlightDisadvantage/SlightDisadvantage RESULT:EqualBlocking/EqualBlocking ]

ins: is the inside line match up
str: is the outside strength match up
agi: is the outside speed match up

The double ADV and RESULT shows the inside line and outside line broken apart.
