Just ended up with Ray Revere (and at the 13th pick, no less). By far the best Rule 5 guy I've gotten. Curious how he stacks up with other owners' best Rule 5 picks.

Destin Wood was my best R5 pick ever.  He was the 8th player chosen that season (and two other teams passed on R5 altogether).

Depends if you can afford to have a DH or not. Revere is the superior hitter, though it's not a huge gap.

Wood has 2400 ML plate appearances.  Revere has 0.  It's a bit premature to call him superior.

I know I forgot to protect a bunch of my best ML guys in one world and was lambasted for it for two straight seasons. That didn't go over so well.

This isn't like real life, where a marginal player can suddenly discover himself and blossom into a spectacular player.  Just about everyone knows the numbers after they've been in the system for a few seasons.  If you leave a superstar unprotected, you f**ked up.

That is a bit harsh, but it definitely means that at least one owner in the league was not taking care of their franchise, so I would agree that it is not exactly a cause for celebration.

Not a shocker but I didn't get much in Coop, Mantle or MG.   Got some pretty good ones in a public world:

These are the types of Rule5 pickups you should expect to see:  Flawed, part-time players...  at BEST.

If you get a full-time all-star level starter or superstar masher that can actually play a position in Rule5, at least one person in your league is a tard.  If you come here to brag about it, well... you might be one too.

I've only played in good quality private leagues so this guy is the best I've ever gotten, which happened to be this season:
 Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Enrique Servet

This one is a case of someone probably not having seen the value of speed plus 90+ contact/eye.
