The Post War Progressive league has one opening for the 1954 season. The league started in 1946 and this will be our 9th season.

I am Commissioner and for the last 3 seasons I have owned 2 teams. At this time I would like to surrender 1 (but not both )  of the two teams. I am going to post both teams below and will award the first team to be claimed to an owner with an acceptable track record who is willing to commit to at least 3 additional seasons in the league. The other team will then not be available.

We are currently posting keepers for 1954 and I have already posted keepers for both teams (as shown below) but a new owner may make any changes desired to the keeper list. I will give interested owners immediate access to the league's private forum.

Team No. 1 is the Boston Red Sox. The original owner had the team for 5 seasons, comiling a record of 355-455 (a W/L pct. of .438). The first season I took over the team it had a record of 69-93, followed by 82-80 in the 2nd season and in 1953 with 53 games to go the Red Sox lead the AL East Division by 25 games with a record of 67-42. This team has been rebuilt into a winning team.

Team No. 2 is the St. Louis Cardinals. I have owned this team for all 8 seasons, and while the team has one WS title, it is currently still in rebuilding mode. the record for the last 3 seasons is:

Season 6 68-94
season 7 74-88
season 8 55-54 (through 109 games)

While I would prefer to surrender the Red Sox, whose rebuilding task is completed, if someone prefers a rebuilding challenge I am willing to surrender the Cardinals.

This is a challenging league. There are enough players (barely) to fill rosters, but care in drafting will be required to ensure suffient PA's and IP's, 6 position and 4 pitching average AAA players will be provided to help with PA and IP.
