you are trading for a star player, 85+ rating, and they are in the last year of their contract...but won't extend with their current team.

Does it matter how good your team is and if the player will extend? My team has had more success over the past 5 seasons, than the other team.

Depends more upon their patience than anything. 9 times out of 10 they are gone.
