Do I have ANY chance to make the playoffs? Topic

OL, playing at Coors, spent only $29 million on pitching.

I woudn't bet on it.

From my experiments at Coors you need good pitching (40M+), good/decent fielding/range and/or players that normalize well offensively + extra base hits.

I haven't seen your lineup or strategy, so maybe, but I doubt it...

Though your pitching staff only gave up 33 RL HRs which is pretty good. But a LOT of BBs which could hurt you in Coors, though they are still better than giving up hits. And the team WHIP is 1.12, which is dang good.

Actually, only 3 guys have historical performance ERAs below 4.00, which means they should get creamed in Coors. And the 3 good pitchers (Toney, Nehf and Dumont) combine for just 277 IPs).

Plus only 1213 IPs.

I'm expecting an ERA of well over 6.00...I just hope I can score over 7 runs/game.

I looked at your lineup and even if I understand the idea, I think you overpayed for walks and stolen bases.

And those IPs are scary low.

I'm not confident, but you could also be heck of a manager and pull it off. Good luck.

Thanks for the GL wish.

I've played a lot of seasons at Coors, and my teams would always lead the league in scoring at home, and probably overall as well, but would be only average on the road.  To combat this, I've added speed and stolen bases, which has made my Coors teams among the better road scoring teams as well.

Concerning IPs, I like going low, and bringing in scrubs to start as many games as needed to keep my other guys fresh.

My goal for this team isn't actually to win games, I'm just trying to score a lot of runs for fun.

How many runs did they score? I drafted my team trying to score 1134 runs (7 per game) without having ridiculously stupid pitching. I also requied my SPs to have at least .200 batting averages, which put Summers on the sidelines.

Making the playoffs for me is a bonus...but if you scored 1134 runs and won the series, then you've proven it can be done.
