We recently finished our first season of the Current Contract League and we need an owner.
This is a unique league. Many of you probably saw us doing our auction in October and November.
Here's the basic idea.
We use current players. Each player has an auction value which is his contract. Right now we are all watching our players play the real MLB season. In October we will decide who to resign and who to release into free agency. If you resign a guy you can sign him to a 1, 2, 3 or 5 year contract.
If you sign himfor one year you must give him a 15 raise.
Two years are two 12 raises
Three years are three 10 raises
Five years are five 8 raises.
Each team has a 1,000 budget
So, you have David Wright for 74.
He has a crappy 2013 season, you release him to free agency.
He has a great 2013 season, you can sign him for one year at 89, or two years at 86-98, or three years at 84-94-104, or five years at 82-90-98-106-114
Once the signings are done, we take a month to do the free agent auctions using blind bidding.
It's a unique concept. The first auction went very well though it took a daily commitment for a long time.
Here's the open team and his salaries.
