Conference Tournament Semifinals
(1) St. Louis 84-81 vs. (3) Xavier
Xavier hangs in with St. Louis throughout the game but cannot advance to the championship. Despite taking 34 more shots from the floor than St. Louis, Xavier is only able to connect on 5 more, shooting 36% compared to St. Louis' 52%. St. Louis gave away the ball 21 times, 10 more than Xavier, and also allowed 23 offensive rebounds. However, 21 points from Michael Back and 7-10 shooting from Jeremy Jones, allowed the Billikens to escape with the victory. St. Louis, seeking their first conference championship in 22 years, will advance to face Dayton. Meanwhile, Xavier finishes their season with a 15-14 record, ending with a record above .500 after 3 straight seasons below.
(2) Dayton 71-61 vs. (1) Rhode Island
Dayton shuts down Rhode Island's offense late to seal the victory. Rhode Island fails to record a field goal for 6 minutes late in the game, scoring only 5 points in the final 6 minutes. Richard Pines led the game with 15 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to beat Dayton, whose starters combined for 18-35 shooting. National Tournament
(13) Dayton 61-80 vs. (4) Connecticut
Dayton keeps the game close through halftime, but cannot keep up with #4 Connecticut in Round 1 of the National Tournament. Dayton struggled offensively, shooting only 37.5% from the floor. Senior Samuel Tucker led Dayton in scoring in his final game with 13, while also adding 4 steals defensively. After shooting 12-30 FG in the first half, UConn secured the win with 17-28 second half shooting. Benny Leong led the game with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies. This is Dayton's 7th straight Round 1 exit in the NT. Their last NT win was against Connecticut, when they shocked the Huskies as seed 15.

Postseason Invitational
(4) St. Louis 55-65 vs. (5) Wake Forest
Nerves seemed to have gotten the better of the St. Louis team playing in their first postseason game in 19 seasons. The Billikens, who shot 50% FG throughout the season, shot a cold 6-25 in the first half, scoring only 15 points. They were able to recover slightly in the second half, however could not escape their double digit deficit for most of the game. Michael Back was St. Louis' only double digit scorer with a game high 14 points. Despite the early exit, St. Louis ought to be pleased with their season's success, as they had previously suffered 13 straight seasons with a losing record.
