Is there a point in an HD season where moving a guy up into the ML won't start the clock towards arbitration?

I don't think that's what you're asking but, if you wait 20 minor league days to promote, you gain an extra year of salary control.

Yes, that's what I was talking about... Salary control leads to arbitration. We just took different routes to get to the same spot.

20 calendar days or 20 cycles?

So if I bring my AAA ace up to get 4 starts and 20 days in at the end of the MLB season because he might help the playoff run, then do i have to leave him down for 40 days the next season to keep that arb year?
