I think I saw this in the forums before... Just curious who are some of the most extreme pitchers you've ever seen? As in- Best ratings, best stats, most innings pitched, etc. Just wondering... post links to some cool players if you got em

The best world Major Leagues has ever seen (IMO) is Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Chris Nen.

Others more recently have come within shouting distance of some of his stats, but they've done it in a much more pitcher-friendly era of the World. OPS in Nen's heyday was .050 higher, so his stats are all the more ridiculous. Plus it was the AL, so facing the DH instead of pitchers.

He still holds these World records:

In a season (season number)
Wins (top 3 are all Nen) - 31 (8), 28 (3), 26-t (4)
ERA - 1.15 (4)
WHIP - .080 (3)
Quality starts (top 2 and 3 of top 4) - 37 (3), 36 (4)
OBP allowed - .223 (3)

Also has the highest career winnings percentage (.744)

He was never really pushed either. We had a good team and so he was generally shut down with games remaining and/or allowed to sit at 100% until his turn rather than bump him up in the rotation.

The 36 QS is actually even more impressive than the 37, given that he picked up 36 QS in only 38 appearances.

Best guy I ever saw in the leagues I've been in is Blake Jones in Mattingly. Blake Jones 9 Cy Youngs. 12 20+ win seasons(2 more at 19). 386 wins. Still pitching at age 40.

This guy was king of Sharkey's World:
Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Christopher Ramirez
Ended up with 12 Cy Young awards. Had over 400 wins. Career WHIP of 1.09.
The most dominating player I've ever seen.

Matt Ross had the single best season I've ever seen a pitcher have (S7: 26-4, 0.58 WHIP, 0.71 ERA). That's more wins (26) than earned runs given up (23). His overall career was pretty great (10 Cy Youngs, including nine straight, 277 wins, 3,022 K, 0.93 WHIP and 2.18 ERA), if somewhat short.

I always go back to this guy

hineiii...Your guy Benjamin Miles wins the "Best Pitcher Ever" hands down. He had more 30 win seasons than most SP do 10 wins seasons! He was already 31 when the world started, but he went through a 5 year stretch where he averaged over 30 wins per season and had an OAV of under 2.00! that's CRAZY!
