Canseco is a great world with a ton of parity (4 teams won 100+, only 2 more won 90+), lots of long-term owners, and zero drama. We have a couple simple but effective anti-tanking rules that I'll let you know about if you sitemail me with interest. As you'll see below, our openings this season are without exception teams that WON DIVISION TITLES last year and have a lot of talent available. It's a GREAT time to get into Canseco. Sitemail me if you're interested.
Milwaukee Kegheads - (85-77, 1st Place in AL North, Lost in Play-in Round). After a long stretch of incompetence and high draft picks this franchise has made the playoffs in 3 of the past 4 years and has lots of young talent. Still needs the first owner to stay for more than a couple seasons but it's an attractive opportunity. Draft Pick: 25. Player to Watch: Slugging 25-year-old RF Dave Robinson.
Kansas City Mules - (90-72, 1st Place in AL South, Lost in ALDS). Has had the same owner for the past 9 seasons and is in excellent shape as a result. 5 straight division titles, lots of talent. Draft Pick: 30. Player to Watch: All-everything 3B (and 27-year-old former #1 overall pick) Darwin Kirkland.
Anaheim Shanks - (85-77, 1st Place in NL West, Lost in Play-in Round) A team that consistently dances around .500, they've had success in a division that is usually wide open and have plenty of room (and young talent) to get even better. If I was taking one of these teams, it would probably be this one for its blend of talent, flexibility, and room to improve.
Draft Pick: 26.
Player to Watch: There are really a bunch here but check out 25-year-old true ace
Horacio Castillo, frequent MVP candidate
Izzy Dickson, in-prime swinging CF
Robinzon Martinez, and OBP machine
Philip Moore.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have interest or any questions. This is a fantastic league that usually fills quickly so let me know right away if you think you might be a good fit.
