Coker (4-2) at Lincoln (2-4): Warshot and Coker have two losses against top 10 teams, taking care of business against everyone else. Sr PF John Runge provides a valuable inside presence with 18 ppg on 58% shooting. Despite a couple of difficult opponents, Coker is shooting 53% for the year as a team. Sr SG Sydney Haskins bombs away for detfirecat and Lincoln, putting up over 19 ppg while shooting 3s at a 42% clip and FTs at 93%. Lincoln is an 11 point underdog, but detfirecat owns a perfect 7-0 mark versus warshot.
Rockhurst (5-1) at Anderson (4-2): Unipanther and Rockhurst are a perfect 5-0 this season against coaches named SimAI, with their lone loss at ranked Minnesota, Duluth. The Rock has 4 starters averaging at least 11 ppg and 82 ppg as a team. Bscollier has gotten alot out of his Anderson team so far, with 4 wins from his 12 freshmen and sophs. They score over 87ppg, but give up 80. I smell a track meet. Oddsmakers like Rockhurst by 7, but the over/under is 156. Take the over.
Coker 94, Lincoln 59: Lincoln kept it close in the first half, despite shooting 33%. But Coker turned up the offense in the second half, making 19 FGs (compared with 20 from Lincoln the whole game). Coker stud Runge was content to do work on the glass (with 12 boards), leaving 5 other teammates free to reach double figures. Lincoln was overmatched, with icy 33% shooting in both halves and 26 turnovers.
Rockhurst 78, Anderson 61: Less of a track meet than anticipated, but Rockhurst pulls away in the second half. The Rock parlayed 54% shooting and a ten rebound advantage into their 7th win on the season. Four different players reached double digits, doing damage in the paint. Anderson had no answer, committing 28 fouls against the interior onslaught.
A split makes it CVAC 4, Heartland 2.
