Mattingly S22 filled Topic

Mattingly is looking for some veteran, committed owners to take over the available franchises in the world. There are a number of solid franchises available, including two of the top teams (historicallY) in the league. There's a real good opportunity here to return some of these teams to the level of success they've become accustomed to.

World Mattingly has two rules:

1. Five/Ten Absence Rule

Any team can be removed if it fails to log in for five calendar days during pre-season activities or ten calendar days during the regular season without telling the commissioner about the absence beforehand.

2. Minimum Win Rule

Any team CAN be removed if it fails to maintain a cumulative .350 winning percentage over the course of consecutive seasons. Considerations for rebuilding teams, replacement owners, and owners who the league deems to be fielding a competitive team will be made. Teams who repeatedly field fatigued pitchers and players will be considered strong candidates for removal under this rule. The aim of this rule is not to punish teams that are in a rebuild or transitional period, rather, to punish owners who are blatantly tanking for the sole purpose of stocking draft picks and international free agents.

Available Teams:

===========================================

Colorado Springs Abominable Snowmen - AL West - 85-77

Sadly, original owner drz7772002 is leaving us and his three time champion franchise. After a run of 5 straight 100-plus win seasons the Snowmen dipped a bit this year, missing the playoffs and finishing runner up in their division. If you're looking to take over a strong franchise and shape them as you see fit this is your best bet.

==============================================================================

New York Giants - NL East - 82-80

This is a veteran laden team that is a pair of supporting players away from making a real run. The pitching is there, though the bullpen could be shored up a bit, but the offense looks to rely on two or three players with a dearth of hitting talent behind them. A couple extra bats here may mean the difference in a very winnable division.

===============================================================================

San Diego Terremotos
- NL West - 83-79

Despite winning the NL West this team could use a little work to make them a real post season threat. This squad has a good mix of veterans and youngsters and can really be molded the way you see fit. EIther way, this team appears to have a fairly large window for success open for them.

===============================================================================

Kansas City Kings - NL West - 74-88

One of the most successful franchises in league history (6 WS titles in 10 WS appearances), this team only missed the playoffs for the 4th time in 21 seasons. The collection of arms on this team is its downfall, and one would wonder if the team could have chased down the San Diego franchise for the division title if there were even three legitimate SP's on the roster.

===============================================================================

San Francisco Seals - NL West - 65-97

An original, long time owner is unfortunately leaving us. He leaves behind a team ready for a rebuild but not devoid of talent. Could be a great opportunity if you're looking to rebuild.
