Zeke Bonura, 1B, 1934 with 176 RBIs, 176 ! Came in second to Hal Trosky who also had a great season but hit .318 to Bonura's .335 and had 137 RBIs. Trosky hit 38 HRs to Bonura's 28, which I guess was the reason.
But Bonura came in 5th in the MVP balloting, which Trosky did not place in. The MVP was Jimmy Foxx who had 161 RBIs.
