1904/1944 Separate Draft League-filled !! Topic

This league is really  two progressive leagues in one. The NL is a 12 team league which started in 1901 and the AL is a 12 team league which started in 1941. No trading of players or draft picks is allowed between the 2 leagues, so the NL will always only have players progressing from 1901 and the AL will only have players progressing from 1941.

An owner who had teams in each league submitted keeper lists for 1904 and 1944 for his teams but has been absent throughout the first 4 rounds of the drafts. I have drafted for him while trying to contact him, but he has not opened site mails.

Detailed roster information for the teams available is provided below. If interested, please sign up below. Because this is a progressive league, I do ask that you not sign up unless you anticipate being able to participate for at least 5 seasons. Interested owners will be given immediate access to the league's private forum, which has the 1904 and 1944 keeper lists, 1904 and 1944 draft schedules, league rules and other pertinent information. Owners signing up prior to the completion of the draft may participate in the remaining rounds of the draft.

Excerpt from team rules:

!!!. Teams. There will be 24 teams split into two 12 team leagues with separate drafts for 1901 and 1941 (and thereafter separate keeper lists, available player lists etc.). Thus within each league for the initial draft only 300 players will be needed (12 x 25). The 1904 league will have a small shortfall of players (19) as only 290 players are available. For the 1941 league more than 400 players are available so no shortfall will exist. There will be a list of available teams and ballparks-please use the team names and ballparks provided.

IV. WIS Rules. We will use the 1969-1976 format with 4 6 team divisions, 4 teams making the playoffs. No DH, No WW, No Salary Cap, No Live play. Injuries off. Initially 6 position and 4 pitching average AAA players will be allowed to cover any shortfalls in PA or IP until such time as the Commissioner determines that AAA players are no longer necessary. No trades of players or draft picks between leagues-the NL will remain only 1901 players and the AL will remain only 1941 players.

.
For the 1904 league ONLY, the shortfall in players (10) will be made up by drafting players with a maximum salary of $200k from 2013. These players may be replaced by AAA players if desired once the season starts. All NL teams will have 1 2013 player. All teams (AL included) will also get 6 position and 4 pitching average AAA players.Any shortfalls in future seasons will be handled in the same way. 2013 players and AAA players may not be keepers for the following season.

The Senators are an excellent team. the Pirates are a rebuilding team but have adequate PA's and IP's

The missing owner had the 4th highest W/L Pct. in the league and has been a reliable owner with well managed teams-keep hoping he will return before we start the 1904 season, but have heard nothing from him.

This is an opportunity to join an excellent league with low turnover, solid owners, no drama. Many outstanding players will be rookies in the next few seasons

Senators taken, only 1 left

If you are using * 4 6 team divisions, 4 teams making the playoffs *, how did Washington make the playoffs as a wildcard?

We are using 6 four team division with 2 wildcards. We have inter-league play. Had a choice of inter-league play with 8 playoff teams or no inter-league play with 4 playoff teams and I chose to do the former.

I would like 8 playoff teams with no inter-league play but that is not an available choice.

I'll take Pittsburgh.
