DDL#2 Draft Board (close til DDL#3) Topic

I agree completely, but I am a little concerned that making up a rule, no matter how great, and implementing it in three hours is not completely fair.

We all understand that we have jobs and other responsibilities, but this is why proxies are so important.

I agree for the most part jh, but it's not 3 hours, it's 20 hours. alec is a 2nd season member and must be aware that his inattention is stopping the rest of us from playing. We've come this far and if you look we don't have any rules at all, we have procedures that govern how the format is executed..that's it. I hate rules in a competition, I think they, for the most part, they do more harm than good. Right now I'm more PO'ed about being put in a position of making a rule than holding up the draft.  But as 'Da Commish' looking out for the bests interest of the league and it's members is my role, even when I don't like it. Hopefully alec will pick and this rule will never be needed. After I get some coffee in me maybe I won't be such an a$$hole!!

I want to see the draft "keep going" as much as the next guy, but "off the clock" means off the clock. Just make it clear that in DDL #3 that "otc" really means that you have a max of 12 hours.

If you want to skip the missing pick then put the draft on the clock. Otherwise you may cause someone to quit mid-draft if they feel like they were skipped with no notification or due process.

Have to agree off the clock is off the clock. If you going on clock you have to give at least 24 hrs notice imho

Ok, nobody's going to get skipped. I'm just *****'n. But feel free to kick alec around when he does pick...     We're doing great and waaaay ahead.

I agree totally with smokey on this one, even if we are off the clock you should be considerate enough to make your pick within at least 8 hours. After that the commish should make your pick or you should lose it. If you are not considerate enough or if an emergency comes up the you should be content with the commish making your pick for you. Also, the commish should have the final say in this as he took the time to make the league and has every right to enforce the rules as he sees fit. If we don't do it now then there should be a hard and fast rule from here on out.
