1969 AL please.

Probably my favorite season from my youth - got to see home town hero Frank "Hondo" Howard hit one in the game at RFK. Challenge will be only 8 pitchers on the roster - I hope the 2,000+ IPs helps.

Just drafted and $140 isn't enough for the 1969 AL. I don't have much flexibility given 8 pitchers. The dollars are all on the bench, but I would need $150 to draft a full roster.

midknight I was able to make a 1969 AL team under $140 million by drafting all 8 pitchers.  Yes there are some dollars on the bench but that is the case for everybody's team.

Thanks zephyr...I wish 65 NL had couple real closer/setup guys...bucks would be down and those guys are brutal...I have big inning guys I dont need...lets play with the all-stars, cap originally was humungous, spirit of the league is to see who be the best year...

Let me have 64 AL team please...this team looks like cap will be less...gotta have The Mick play...with 2teams and opposite leagues we will Aline them in separate leagues I assume...should be fun!

Do you want the 1964 AL & 1965 NL team?
8/4/2013 11:19 AM
Got the 69AL in under $140M. I now have 3 catchers to go with my 8 pitchers. The bench didn't suffer, but game-starter Sal Bando lost the HR contest to Harmon Killebrew and was sent back to Oakland.

Ya the 65 NL team is key...to make league go I'm taking 2...

$165 million to make 1965 NL work huh?  I suppose this would help out midknight & his 1969 AL squad as well as the 2001 NL team.  If it helps fill the league, I'm all for it and I'll see what the rest of the group thinks.

I'm up for the $165 cap also......to fit the $140 I had to not draft some starters and use some lesser players - also only had 10 pitchers to chose from with only 1 being a relief pitcher, so $ wasted on useless innings......

I did get the 1969 AL squad in at $140 - the higher cap may not help/hurt me much. But - in the spirit of the theme - it's take an all star team and play the season. The cap should be whatever enables one to draft the best team from the league/season selected.

Cool...$164.86 gets '65NL in...now we gotta get 8 more!

Ok talismen25, I sent a ticket in this morning to have the cap changed to $165 million so you can enter your 1965 NL team.  Hopefully we can keep the same league number and not start over.

I put that team together myself, and you'll have way too may IP but with a 25 man roster nobody to cut!

Do you know the other team you'd like to use?
