Minor Leagues just rolled to season 24. Fun, competitive league with a lot of highly dedicated owners, an active blog and world chat, and a great theme - all franchises are named for current or former minor-league teams.

Current openings:

Former Rochester Red Wings (AL East, 90-72 - #22 Draft Pick):
Coming off its sixth playoff berth in seven seasons (all under one owner), this team boasts a stable and successful ML roster. It needs a bit of a push to become a true World Series contender, though, and also has the age and salary concerns typical of a franchise in its position. But if you're looking for a proven winner, this is definitely the team for you.

Im a little bias, but I consider this an elite owner league because of Erff. As mjpals said the remaining teams are legit contenders.
