I would agree that 99.99% of the time a human coach is preferable to a Sim coach, but that 0.01% the rest of the time the human coach is named Reigny.  Those familiar with his "resume" will understand exactly what I mean.
LOLOL. Don't hate on him too much, he boosted both of our winning percentages quite a bit.

I do think it's absurd that being a D1 coach you can get turned down for another D1 job in favor of the sim AI. I can understand the engine not favoring every user coach over a sim, simply because then you can have a first year D3 coach getting some C presitge BCS school, which obviously is not how the system should work. But I would think a coach that has had a couple of winning season at a crappy prestige D1 school should not be getting turned down to a C prestige BCS school in favor of the Sim AI.
It wasn't so much that he boosted our winning percentages so much, but that extremely rare outlier of a game where the RNG was totally in his favor and he hung an L on you that was like a scarlet letter on your resume for a decade or so.  I think my all-time record against him is something like 15,347-3 and it's that "3" that still gives me nightmares.

I guess I am lol, sorry if my brain isn't up to snuff at the moment
Think "Hoosiers".
Never saw it...

You seriously have never seen the movie "Hoosiers."  How is that possible if you're a basketball fan?

correct...HS basketball...meh...I've just never been compelled to watch it.

A little while back at Stony Brook in Smith (D- prestige school, A+/A+ loyalty/rep) I had two 150ish-RPI seasons, above .500 records, but no postseason action.

I tried to move to another D- team in a lowly-rated conference, got rejected. I contacted customer service, and was told I needed to have more success in D1 to move.

I considered this inability to lateral silly, but what can ya do.

I'm a big basketball fan and have never seen "Hoosiers", and I really don't have much desire to do so (though I will admit the chance I will now see it just went up by small percentage points now that I've read and responded to this thread).

Agreed, I don't like how you're "damned to your plot" in D1 when you can basically move around as you like in the other divisions...not that I'm one to do that.

In order to do a good job coaching the picket fence offense, you really have to watch Hoosiers
