May still opt to take the version of Kobe that is about $1 mill less in salary, but I've found a set of bench guys that allow me to still use this version and hit 19,200+ minutes.

9/23/2013 7:58 PM
think the dimes by committe thing is gonna end up biting you in the butt, nate, though it looks respectable enough on paper. that's the only weakness i see here, still, could be a deal breaker for the team. good luck.

Bullwinkle instead of Chandler & Faried instead of Ho. Grant... I'll take it.
9/23/2013 9:17 PM
Thanks scud. My bench will have some low usage high ast% guys. There are a couple of players that I've used before with horrid efg%'s that can play solid D and have strong ast%'s, I plan to add a couple of them to complete my backcourt minutes since they will have a hard time getting any shots given who my other players are.
9/23/2013 9:42 PM (edited)
Sure hope you end up in the other conference ash. My only advantage over you would be having Nash guarding Ray Allen.

Ashamael - The Headless Horseman

if malone9975's team is, "Halloween", then ash's squad is Washington Irving's - the headless horseman, a terrifying tale of a fearsome, headless serial-killer who rises from the grave to decapitate his victims. The other Malone, Karl, is the headless horseman. How do you kill a ghost who wants to kill you? there's no answer because boerwinkle and faried are gonna get the ball back and give it to nash who waits, dribbles, waits some more, then dishes to malone who shoots from close range and decapitates the defender 56% of the time, over and over again. nash and malone play that inside-out game very well, while rush snipes from the arc ocassionally. look closer and you'll see the real ghost rider here, how these players mirror eachother.

at first glance, it's the sleepy hallow horror show of karl malone and nash... but there's more than that... brandon rush mirrors nash's arc-welding, and faried mirrors malone's efg% while boerwinkle's multi-skills keeps everything working. this is a work of art, just like the story is. george washington ordered ichabod crane to kill the headless horseman, but how do you kill a ghost?

we all have to find this answer somehow. i think an opposing team will have to match-up with ash's players at specific positions to have a 50/50 chance at winning. ya gotta have a shut-down pg and a lock-down pf (rodman-type), but even if you have these kinds of players, the other 3 players on ash's team step-up from the outside and inside. how do you kill a ghost?

nice team, ash. very well balanced. 105% usage, enough dimes, 3's, boards with a "touch" of defense. ya got all the demons you need. gl2u.

It is going to be very tough ranking these teams as there are not many weak ones that I can see.  Like the 52 league this will be a tight race for the playoffs.  I don't think it's possible to draft an easy division!

But there are teams that I think overspent on their starters and maybe their weak benches will be the *****(sp?) in their armor.
9/24/2013 6:36 PM
not if their starters play big mins... 3100+
9/24/2013 7:25 PM
Agreed scud, that is a good way to get basically free minutes because you can over-play them more than shorter minute players.  But 19k mins is still a challenge to deal with.
9/24/2013 8:49 PM
I have 92% of my total time (19,358mins) in my 7 drafted players.

concerning team rosters (in this very scary league)

1 - iccoachb - Michael Jordan, Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning, Cedric Maxwell, Charles Oakley,- which Payton? scary meter: "freddy vs jason"
2 - banditone - Moses Malone, Shawn Kemp, Clyde Drexler, Don Buse, Rodney Mccray,-  not wild about your last couple picks, the right Kemp is shy on minutes. scary meter: "Dracula 2000"
3 - steelers - Dennis Rodman, Wes Unseld, Stephen Curry, Blake Griffin, Bobby Phils,- a little light on usage? scary meter: Manos Hands of God?
4 - natenoy - Wilt Chamberlain, Ray Allen, Kobe Bryant, Clifford Ray, Danny Green,- are you planning on picking up your starting SF in the 6th round? scary meter: Child's Play
5 - skypilot - Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Mookie Blaylock, David Thompson, Chris Webber, D. Roundfield, - David Thompson in the 3rd round? scary meter: Abbot and Costello meet the mummy
6 - seapilots - Lebron James, Patrick Ewing, Buck Williams, Reggie Miller, Swen Nater,- can Buck Williams play SF? I suppose so - scary meter: blair witch
7 - eleibowitz - Dwight Howard, Manu Ginobili, Robert Parish, C. Weatherspoon, Mark Jackson, L. Barbosa, J. McGee - squirrel cop: I cant really single out what you did wrong but I just cant thank you for this - scary meter: candy man
8 - coachcroft - Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo, Elton Brand, Pau Gasol, Troy Murphy, Caldwell Jones, Derrick Rose - so much early promise but I cant get excited over your bigs - scary meter: gremlins
9 - ashamael - Karl Malone, Tom Boerwinkle, Steve Nash, Brandon Rush, Kenneth Faried, Toni Kukoc, Brandan Wright - so much efg, so very much - scary meter: Ridley Scott's Alien
10 - jhsukow - Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups, Bill Walton, Anthony Mason, Paul George, Deandre Jordan, A. Drummond - I guess this is the season everyone decided not give a crap about offensive rebounding (even Ash comes in a shade light)- scary meter: scream
11 - malone - Shaquille O'Neal, Oscar Robertson, Horace Grant, Charlie Ward, Larry Sanders, Mike Miller, E. Dampier - cobble cobble cobble- enough minutes or enough money? scary meter: suspiria
12 - felonius - David Robinson, Donyell Marshall, Mel Daniels, Maurice Cheeks, Chris Mullin, Danny Young, A. Varejao - starting 5 has a working efg of 53.95 - is that enough? scary meter: I'm scared of this league
13 - dh555 - Charles Barkley, Tyson Chandler, Brent Barry, Zelmo Beaty, Jerry West, Jameer N elson, Michael Ruffin - how can the logo be the weak link(not that weak a link even but still)? there really is something screwed up with the sim - scary meter: Phantasm
14 - smokey - John Stockton, Bob Lanier, Alvin Robertson, Alex English, Gus Johnson, Nate McMillan, G. T. Johnson - a grab bag of reaches in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds - reach as in not bad players but players that would have been there in later rounds - scary meter: Leprechaun 2
15 - 98average - Artis Gilmore, Terry Porter, Bobby Jones, Sidney Moncrief, Andrew Bogut, Emeka Okafor, S. Marbury - a little shy on 3s but definitely stout in just about everything else - scary meter: Ringu
16 - theyard - Larry Bird, Marcus Camby, Andrew Bynum, Joakim Noah, Andre Iguodala, Jalen Rose, Charlie Edge - I'm so not a huge fan of playing guys shifted away from 100% eligibility I know it's just a slight decrement but things are so tight in this league as is.... scary meter: Trilogy of Terror
17 - cmcafeeky - Magic Johnson, Jerry Lucas, Hakeem Olajuwon, Larry Nance, James Harden, S. Battier, Kurt Thomas - I suppose it depends on which Harden season you use - nice front court D but back court D kind of meh - scary meter:Murneau's Nosferatu
18 - badja - Bob McAdoo, Deron Williams, Kevin Love, Nick Anderson, Chris Anderson, Jon Barry, Ed Davis - Doo was a reach not because he's not first round talent but because you probably could have snagged him on the turn (because he just never goes in the first round) but otherwise pretty solid - scary meter: Halloween
19 - thisredbox - Dwayne Wade, Anfernee Hardaway, Gerald Wallace, Serge Ibaka, Tree Rollins, A. Dantley, J. Moore - looks to me like your SF should be a SG and your PF should be an SF but you sure do play a ton of D (and then inexplicably you took two more guards in 6th) - scary meter: Twilight Zone
20 - jkaye24 - Ben Wallace, Julius Erving, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Johnson, Ryan Anderson, Carmelo A, Hot Rod Williams - I like pairing Dirk and the Doctor as they complement each other well - you get the orbds from the SG and the 3s from you PF (and Anderson too!) - not a bad mix - scary meter: Friday the 13th
21 - scudmissle - Tim Duncan, Bill Russell, Marques Johnson, Walt Frazier, Wesley Person, Darius Miles, Earl Watson - this looks very familiar and scary - scary meter: Texas Chainsaw Massacre
22 - beachcomber - Jason Kidd, Scottie Pippen, Amare Stoudemire, Roy Tarpley, B. Daugherty, D. Ainge, B. Cardinal - bigs not that impressive (good efg aside) some but not enough rebounding from your back court - scary meter: the grudge
23 - jcred5 - Kevin Garnett, Dikembe Mutombo, Paul Pierce, Mark Price, Andrei Kirilenko, E. Johnson, C. Dudley - lots of interesting pieces but I'm not sure how they all fit together - Scary Meter: Eraser Head
24 - mikee1 - Kevin McHale, Shawn Marion, Carlos Boozer, Jose Calderon, Willis Reed, J. Tinsley, C. Gatling - I guess the Reed pick has to do with Boozer being a 30 minute player or are you playing Marion at the 2? hmm - nice efg, nice balance, nice D - scary meter: The Black Cat
