Tons of Opportunity: NAAA, Knight D2 Topic

The North American Athletic Association was a nearly full conference about two seasons ago. This season, most of our owners decided en masse to move to D1. And that means there are a whole ton of teams available with solid prestige and with human-recruited players to work with. I'm not gonna lie, the conference has just three human members left, and the conference's prospects aren't great unless we get some help. But the foundations are there at SIX more schools to win without a lengthy rebuild, and the NAAA is tailor-made to become a power conference if the right coaches join. Why? Because it's the most geographically spread-out conference in D2. So we can rake in the recruiting money and never fight each other in recruiting.

This was the #2 (by RPI) conference in all of Knight just four seasons ago and has had two title game-participants in the last four years. With the right coaches, it won't take long to get back there. Here's what's available:

*Stonehill has A- prestige, three open scholarships, and has been to four straight NTs. No rebuild needed here.

*W. Oregon dropped to B+ prestige after having almost all underclassmen last year, but they've made ELEVEN straight NTs and won a title three years ago. This year, you'll have a sophomore/junior heavy squad with three open scholarships. Probably one of the top three open jobs in all of Knight D2, because you get to work with shqipta's recruits.

*W. Virginia Wesleyan has B prestige and has made the postseason 24 of the last 25 years. They're recently coming off a down cycle where some Final Fours have been replaced by PITs, but it was another young team last year and could be ready for another big run. WVWC has three open scholarships and all human-recruited players.

*S. New Hampshire has B- prestige and a 3/3/3/3 class balance. All of their players are human-recruited, and they've made three postseason appearances in the last five years (2 NTs, one PIT).

*Slippery Rock is your choice if you want to get your talent in fast. They have B- prestige and five open scholarships this season, with the remaining seven players human recruited. They've been a consistent PIT team and are looking to get over the hump.

*Western Washington has B- prestige and three open scholarships. They do have two Sim-recruited players, but there's also a strong backbone with seven human-recruited players left on the roster.

Tiffin, UMass-Lowell, and Alaska-Fairbanks are also open but are legit rebuilds. But there are six openings where you can take over with prestige in the A/B range. It's not often that there are so many good job openings in one conference, and the right group of coaches could turn this back into a power in no time. So come join us.

Additionally, if we get three more human coaches who are interested, there's an MUSDUC berth waiting for us.

Stonehill, WV Wesleyan, S New Hampshire and Slippery Rock are all representing the NAAA in MUSDUC II next season as it stands. tarvolon is correct, if you can't cut it in the Heartland, this is a really fine back-up option!

Haha, that's a backhanded compliment if I've ever heard one, but I can't argue too much. The Heartland is certainly in a better position right now. That said, the Heartland only has one non-rebuild opening, and the NAAA is fixing to have seven. So if you don't want to start from scratch, the NAAA has you covered.

The seventh is West Chester (PA), who has B prestige, three open scholarships, and six NT wins in the last four seasons. It's currently run by westcoast22, but he has applied elsewhere.

If anybody wants to move up from D3, this is an ideal spot, because you can take over an established program and compete immediately for conference titles. And if a half-full D3 conference has folks wanting to move up, they could apply en masse and stay together.
