The Big Sky Alumni will be ending our season soon and we have 3 confirmed openings for the upcoming season. This is a very high quality world with an active blog. All 3 owners who are leaving are leaving because of personal time constraints. Many owners who have left the world for time reasons have come back when they wanted to add teams.
NL South Memphis Marauders <a style="color:black;" href="http://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/FranchiseProfile.aspx?fid=666">Memphis Marauders</a>
Memphis was a playoff team in the previous season but had a down season 28 (the owner blames his own time issues for bringing the team down). Just under 11 million is committed to major league contracts next year with some young arbitration players to build around long term or deal. The minor league system is solid as well, one of the top 5 systems in the just released top prospect rankings on the blog with Davey Unamuno being one of the top position prospects in the league. This team could easily win their division next season and be set for years to come already. You could shape this team however you wanted.
NL West Sacramento Stars <a style="color:black;" href="http://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/FranchiseProfile.aspx?fid=670">Sacramento Stars</a>
.
Sacramento has only had one owner in the BSA and is due for a complete rebuild. They have just under 14 million in contracts due next season, so they are not in bad shape financially. They have some decent prospects in the system and some definite ML contributers with SS Lyle Boyle leading the way. They also will have the #1 pick next season.
San Fransisco Sea Lions <a style="color:black;" href="http://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/FranchiseProfile.aspx?fid=655">San Francisco Sea Lions</a>
San Fran was the #2 seed in the AL this year and will be the favorite to win their division next season. But their minors are depleted so long term they will need some rebuilding if you like to stock up the minors. Just over 36 million is committed to salary next season so their salary is not inflated and free agents could be signed or you could decide to rebuild fairly easily.
